Come To Life (ft. ARISHA)
Come to Life is a journey of trying something new and searching for a distant sound
After the amazing release of my songs Heartbeat, Piece of You, Love Me Now, and Getting Started, I received a message from Emil. He really liked my work and was looking for someone to help him bring his ideas to life, just like I had done back in early 2021. He sent me four demo versions of his songs, and while they were still a bit rough around the edges, I found one that had fantastic potential. That’s how our journey on "Come to Life" began!
At that time, Emil didn’t have a lot of experience with sound design or putting together full songs, but he had some really exciting ideas to work with. I could see his creative vision, and I was thrilled to help him turn those ideas into a complete song for a possible release. Plus, Emil was more skilled in mixing and mastering, which was something I wanted to learn more about, so it was a great opportunity for both of us!
We had some great conversations about how he wanted the song to sound. He was aiming for a classic Future House vibe, inspired by artists like Chami and Oliver Heldens but was also really looking for a nice and fresh sound of the new Future Bounce genre. In the end, we decided to go for a sound reminiscent of the old Jay Eskar style, which felt like a fun and educational challenge for me as well as the exact mix of what he was looking for.
As we continued working, Emil found Alicia, who contributed beautiful lyrics and incredible vocals that I still love to listen to today. However, beginning in February 2022, we had to put all our work on hold due to the invasion, which was a tough time for everyone. So we had to pause on the song until spring.
By mid-April, the song was complete and was released on the label, which was very supportive of Emil's work, which was really nice of them!
And I have to admit, it might not be my best work, and there’s still a part of me that feels like I could have done more. The song didn't turn out to be bad at all, it just turned into something I wouldn't want to recreate within that specific sounding.
Despite that, working with Emil and Alicia was such a wonderful experience, and I'm really looking forward to the chance to collaborate with them again in the future on something new and even better!
