Kids (ft.Moav)

"Kids" was intended to be a simple Future Bounce track with a unique texture and sound design, or so I thought.

Starting this song didn't take as long as usual. The drop came together relatively quickly, and I was really pleased with the overall structure. As the song developed towards the end of 2021, I was full of excitement, looking forward to it becoming one of my best works in Future Bounce.

However, during 2022 and until the end of March, I was unable to work on it due to significant stress and my general mental state caused by the war. It was hard to work on a happy song when I was feeling down and witnessing my usual world collapsing around me. I'm genuinely a happy person who is always looking forward to something good and is really hard to let down, but for some reason, I've never been able to be that person fully ever again.

As time went on, I connected with Shutong Li, also known as KiTSUNE. He creates incredible Future Bounce, Future Bass, and pop-sounding songs. At that time, he was one of the closest people I communicated with, and his support for my music and friendship played a significant role in helping me feel better.

Eventually, I was able to continue making music, and during that period, I received an amazing opportunity from Moav, who had previously released music on NCS. That he is interested in working on the song. Thanks to Charlie (Moav), who fully embraced my vision for the song, he created lyrics that are both heartfelt and warm. They perfectly complement the song's mood, adding emotion and a unique touch to the track.

As I was working on the song, unfortunately, just when it seemed that everything was getting better, something went wrong. My Mac Mini, which had been serving me since 2016, started to slow down. I had already experienced some issues with it during song production, and by 2022, it was barely able to handle my new and demanding projects. The last piece I worked on with it was "Kids."

This project contained 274 tracks having - leads, basses, vocals, and various verse components. Having such a heavy project, my old Mac Mini just simply couldn't keep up.

Thankfully, with the help of KiTSUNE, I was able to export all the files and transfer them to his machine to finish the song, complete the mix, and master it. We also received a message from Moav expressing his desire to transition to a more pop-oriented sound and focus on pop songs. As a result, our song no longer aligned with his primary style, and he asked to withdraw from it. However, after a few days of chatting and brainstorming ways to resolve this difficult situation, we managed to keep Moav on the song. Although he won't promote it as extensively as he usually would, but still offering to help reach out to A&R representatives from major labels such as NCS and Loud Memory. Again, huge thanks to him

Ultimately, the collaboration turned out to be a rewarding experience. The song was self-released in October with the help of KiTSUNE. Without his assistance, the song might never have been released and likely would have sounded way different.

As a result, "Kids" became a remarkable journey from beginning to end, truly one of my best Future Bounce creations. With the help of talented people, it carries a vibrant sound and uniquely captures the essence of nostalgia of the good old days.
