Piece Of You

This song was one of my first attempts at making Future House music and expressing my vision within the genre. Honestly, it was never intended to be released or at least wasn't initially meant to be seriously considered for release. The project itself started in July-August of 2021, and during that time, I was heavily involved in the Team MMBL Community (now known as SocialSound by MusicByLucas).

The demo of "Piece of You" was showcased for quite a while during demo drops and feedback sessions with Lucas and other successful artists in the Future House scene. Despite its clunky sound, it received positive feedback, which made me reconsider my initial choice and gave me confidence in the song.

By the start of autumn, "Piece of You" was nearly finished, and I was actively searching for the perfect label to represent it. Unfortunately, my efforts were met with multiple rejections, which led me to doubt my musical skills and the choices I made regarding the songs I wanted to release. Meanwhile, I was also working on the collaboration with Godoy Music, Heartbeat. While this project had more potential and was genuinely more promising, it didn't showcase much uniqueness from my side.

In mid-September, I put my work on "Piece Of You" on hold to collaborate with Carlos (Godoy Music) on Heartbeat. With his assistance, we started searching for record labels since Heartbeat had already been completed, and I was optimistic about our chances of finding a label for it. Unfortunately, we faced similar challenges to those we encountered with "Piece Of You," which left me feeling frustrated and questioning whether I wanted to continue making music and releasing it through labels. Fortunately, by the end of September, Carlos received a positive response from a label called "Seal Network," expressing their interest in signing the track and helping us promote it. This opportunity will be crucial for the future of "Piece Of You."

By the end of October, I had almost lost all hope of releasing "Piece of You" and was considering moving on to other projects. However, after successfully releasing "Heartbeat," I had some hope left for Seal Network, especially in case two or three other labels, whose responses I was still waiting for. It took them so long to get back to me that I decided to send my song to Seal, anticipating another rejection. I was shocked to discover that they loved the song and offered me the opportunity to release it in the same week I sent them the email.

And just like that on the 29th of October, "Piece Of You" got released and instantly started to receive a lot of views and nice feedback from people and other music producers. While this may not be my best work (considering it now in 2025), it is definitely one of the more interesting pieces to know about and be proud of.



As of writing this article, Piece Of You has the highest number of streams among my other releases, with 384,050 streams just on Spotify.
